Choosing the right dumbbells comes down to three factors: material type, weight range, and intended use (home vs. commercial gym). Here's everything you need to know before buying.
We carry dumbbells from 1 kg to 50 kg per piece, in 1, 2.5, and 5 kg increments. For beginners, 2–10 kg per hand is usually enough to start. For intermediate and advanced lifters, we recommend starting at 12 kg and scaling up.
What weight range should I start with?
For beginners doing tone and conditioning, 2 to 10 kg per hand is usually enough. Intermediate and advanced lifters typically start at 12 kg and scale up. If you're unsure, adjustable dumbbells (5-40 kg in one piece) cover the full range as you progress.
Do you sell single dumbbells or only pairs?
We sell both. Heavier rubber and hex dumbbells are typically sold per piece (price per kg). Lighter vinyl dumbbells (1-5 kg) are usually sold as pairs.
What's the difference between rubber-coated and hex dumbbells?
Rubber-coated dumbbells are round and rubber-covered, which protects floors and reduces noise — best for home use. Hex dumbbells have a hexagonal shape so they don't roll when set down, which is why they're standard in commercial gyms.
Can I see dumbbells in person before buying?
Yes — our Sheraton Heliopolis showroom has the full dumbbell range on display. Stop by to feel the grips and check the build quality before you commit.
